Just after 1400hrs, the Coast Guard received a call for a boat in distress, stuck on the rocks, just off Briggs Beach. USCG responded and the Marine Task Force was activated. LCFD was the first Marine asset on scene, followed by USCG and Middletown FD. The 2 occupants on board did not sustain any injuries. The boat was stuck on the rocks and was not stable. Middletown FD deployed two rescue swimmers to get the 2 occupants off the boat. The 2 occupants were safely removed from the boat and assisted to Middletown FDs Boat which had 2 USCG personnel on board to assist. The occupants were transferred to the USCG and brought in to Sakonnet Harbor for further eval and to await transportation. Removal of the vessel is left up to the owner of the boat.
