Effective March 1, 2017, the State of Rhode Island - Dept of Health, Center for Emergency Medical Services, in collaboration with the RI Ambulance Advisory Board have updated and significantly changed the Emergency Medical Services Standing Orders and Protocols. These changes bring RI up to par with, and in some circumstances cases exceed, other states through out the country. These protocol are reviewed and analyzed with a fine tooth comb. Many changes are made through recommendations of the American Heart Association and also through numerous medical studies. We ask that you please take the time to watch the video below, to become educated about the way our new protocols work. The protocols are considered a living document and changes/updates are made when deemed necessary.
