MVA - West Main Rd

On Thursday, 4/20/2023, the LCFD was dispatched to the area of 600 West Main Rd for a reported rollover MVA with entrapment. Upon arrival, crews found a single car had gone off the road and rolled onto the driver side where it come to rest against a stone wall. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and were still located inside the vehicle. The windshield was removed by fire personnel so they could communicate with and assess the condition of the occupants. The vehicle was stabilized using rescue struts. An additional rescue was requested and provided by Tiverton Fire Department. Hydraulic extrication tools (The Jaws of Life) were utilized to begin cutting the roof of the vehicle open to extricate the occupants. However, both occupants were able to be successfully extricated through the windshield. Both the driver and passenger were transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
