It is unusual for the LCFD to be able to respond to multiple emergency medical calls simultaneously. However, due to increased manpower assigned to storm coverage, members of the LCFD were able to staff Rescue 1 and transport two patients to the hospital at the same time. LCFD Firefighters, Police/Fire Dispatchers and LC Police Officers and DPW personnel have been working well beyond the call of duty, working extra hours and sleeping at the public safety complex in order to maintain an increased staffing level.
