On Monday, January 16, 2023, LCFD personnel responded to a local equestrian facility to assist stable members with a horse that had fallen in her stall. Upon arrival, firefighters found the horse lying in her stall with her head through the open paddock door. The approximately 35 year old horse suffers from arthritis and has trouble moving her legs. She was unable to get a good footing in the stall to be able to stand up on her own. Fire personnel assisted with getting the horse out of the stall and outside into the paddock, where after some time she was able to successfully stand up on her own. A veterinarian had been contacted and was responding to check over the horse.
