At approximately 1000 hours yesterday September 15th, the LCFD was dispatched to Long Highway for reports of a structure fire. The LCFD along with mutual aid departments from Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the TANKER TASK FORCE and other assets such as the providence canteen and a Fall River Medic Unit responded and extinguished the fire. The fire was in a detached garage and quickly spread to the loft space and roof which subsequently experienced a partial collapse. The cause of the fire is still being investigated. No injuries were reported.
